Periods of light snow will continue into Sunday evening in southeastern Manitoba with a gusting north wind, up to 50 km/h.

In your Space Age Kal Tire Road Report, highways in the Southeast are partly snow covered with blowing and drifting snow.

Around midnight, the clouds will move out and the wind will become light. At this time, it doesn’t look like the Southeast will be getting any more snow this week.

It will be a cold Sunday night with the temperature dropping to –19 with a wind chill overnight of –26.

Monday will be mainly sunny, windy and cool with a high of –7.

After that, it will warm up steadily throughout the week

Environment Canada and Climate Change is forecasting daytime temperatures to reach –1, while some other forecasters are predicting temperatures to climb above freezing for the entire weekend.

There is only a thin blanket of snow on the ground in the Southeast, but perhaps Sunday’s snowfall will stick around long enough for residents in the Southeast to enjoy a white Christmas.
