A number of roadwork and sidewalk projects are currently underway in the Town of Niverville.

Mayor Myron Dyck says now that CP Rail has completed the sidewalk crossings over the tracks themselves, crews are working to connect them with existing paths on the south side of the tracks.

"Guys are working on that today and we hope to have the ones done on the north side of town before the snow flies but we will see. As far as sidewalks on arena road, those will be done next year and the ones on Mulberry, we are doing a granular path for right now to attach to the crosswalk that will take us over the 311."

Mulberry Avenue is currently being rebuiltDyck says if everything goes as planned, the new Niverville High School should be connected to the rest of town via sidewalks and walking paths by the end of the year. He adds the granular path along Mulberry Avenue will be replaced by concrete next year.

Meanwhile, Dyck says the town office parking lot and the north half of 6th Avenue South are set to be paved by the end of September. He adds anyone driving through Niverville will also notice roadwork on the northwest corner of town.

"Construction is underway on Mulberry, they have excavated on the north side of the road so far and that is currently a construction zone and they are hoping to see that completed as well before winter."
