Mateychuk, who had 13 goals and 17 assists in 30 games with the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League’s Eastman Selects this past season, is among 113 players invited to Hockey Canada’s virtual National Under-17 Development Camp from July 19th to 27th.

12 goaltenders, 37 defensemen and 64 forwards will be split into six teams for the week-long virtual camp, participating in a variety of sessions with a focus on player development through online education.

The 15-year-old Dominion City product brought home a bronze medal from the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland in January and also played in seven games with the Western Hockey League’s Moose Jaw Warriors.

Athletes will cover topics that include at-home strength and conditioning plans, mental performance plans and check-ins, nutrition, dry-land skills, skating simulations, team-building activities, short-term international competition preparation and meetings with coaches.

The 19-year-old Ste. Anne native and former Eastman Selects netminder posted a 15-8-1 record with a 1.58 goals against average, a .938 save percentage and recorded four shutouts in her freshmen season with the Robert Morris Colonials and was named to the 2020 All-USCHO Team.
