Police say James Thomas Wiebe was arrested without incident Friday in Morden. He was arrested by Morden Police Service. All three suspects are now in custody. RCMP received many tips on the matter.

A warrant has been issued for a suspect in a break and enter and assault with a machete that took place in Niverville January 3.

Twenty-five year old James Thomas Wiebe of Niverville is considered armed and dangerous and may be in the Morden/Winkler area. Anyone with information is asked to call St. Pierre RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

Wiebe has been charged with Robbery, Break And Enter, Assault with a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to Public, Disguise with Intent and five counts of Fail to comply with Recognizance.

Police say the incident happened early in the morning on Third Street in the southwest part of Niverville. The homeowner heard activity in his detached garage and went to check it out. He was confronted by three males who all had their faces covered. Investigators say one of them struck the man with a machete before they fled.

The 43 year-old victim sustained a serious injury but police say it was not life-threatening.
