Information has been released regarding an incident involving an off-duty police officer and an allegation of impaired driving

According to the The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba, RCMP initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 52 and Provincial Road 206 on June 9th. Among those stopped at the crossing was an off-duty officer. When the RCMP operating the check stop administered a roadside screening test to this individual they were found to be impaired. The off-duty officer was subsequently given a 72-hour license suspension.

The IIU says the investigation is ongoing.
