The Mitchell Mohawks will be called the Mitchell Mustangs after this season. This is not a new name, they are actually going back to it.

When Mitchell was buliding thier hockey arena in the 70's, they held a contest to come up with a name of thier new hockey team. Young Bob Broesky, who was playing for Kleefeld at the time, entered the name MUSTANGS into the contest and ended up winning! He got a brand new transister radio as a prize for winning. As he grew older, he went on to play for the Mitchell Mustangs and won a championship jacket!

Bob was pretty proud of the fact that Mitchell is going back to the name he picked as a child.
