It was a tough loss for the Steinbach Pistons to open up their MJHL Showcase event falling in regulation for the first time: 4-1 to the Selkirk Steelers.

Special teams were the difference as the Steelers capitalized in the opening frame on the power play to give themselves a 1-0 lead.

Steinbach's power play had some looks but couldn't click.

In the second period, it was all Selkirk on the scoreboard as they piled up 3 more goals to take a 4-0 lead into the second intermission.

The Pistons did manage to get on the board in the third when Zach Purcell scored to make it 4-1 but that's as close as they would get.

Steinbach controlled shots on goal finishing with 49 to the Steelers 23.

The Pistons next see action on Tuesday when they play the Waywayseecappo Wolverines at 12:00 PM in Winnipeg to wrap up their Showcase event.
