After 11 years as mayor of Ritchot, Bob Stefaniuk has decided to take on a new challenge.Stefaniuk has announced plans to seek the Tory nomination for La Verendrye.
He says this is not a decision he made overnight but something he's been pondering for years. Stefaniuk says he's received a lot of support from friends and family to make this move. He says as MLA he would pay close attention to the agriculture sector, flooding issues and economic development. At this point, Stefaniuk will continue to serve as mayor of Ritchot. However, should he win the La Verendrye seat in the next provincial election, he would then be forced to resign as mayor.
