Man communitites in the southeast are missing out on some opportunities to grow.
That's because when larger industries take a look at the poor shape of Highway #59 and the access ways into the communities they decide to look elsewhere. Ginette Lussier is with Eastman Regional Development and Eastern Manitoba Tourism Association. She says the highways in and out of Steinbach were not made to handle the type of growth the area is seeing. One of her projects right now is gaining support for twinning Highway #59. Lussier says even though there's a lot of development in the southeast, their studies show there would be even more if our highways were in better shape. She believes Steinbach will run into many problems if city council does not address the main routes in and out of the city.
