Water levels are being monitored in the town of Ste Anne after water was inching toward residences early Friday.

Earlier today, high water levels were reported along the Seine River flowing through the community.

This prompted a report to the Province’s Water Management Branch which is in charge of the Seine River Diversion.

The Town reports, “Maintenance was done to the Diversion gates over this past winter, and the position of the gates was set to the same position prior to maintenance, however, because of an increase in flow, the Province had to close the gates more.”

Water levels are dropping after an adjustment of the gates at the diversion and the town will monitor water levels.
