Seven preschool students graduated from the Steinbach Family Resource Centre's pre-kindergarten program Monday morning.

Executive Director Vicki Olatundun says she values this program because it gives the kids an opportunity to learn the necessary skills for success both in Kindergarten and for their 13-year schooling career.

"At the end of the day the foundations are key, the foundation of anything is key. So, you can build a gorgeous building on any great foundation. What we want to do is make sure the foundation is strong and is sold and is ready for the next 13 years."

Olatundun says the program focuses on helping the children develop their fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and sensory perception. She adds the children also learn how to be patient, how to share, and how to get along with a group of other children.

She notes without the support from the community this program would not be possible and thanks all those who continue to support the centre.
