There is a group of people planning the opening of a soup kitchen for the community of Grunthal.

“A group of us got together part about starting a soup kitchen in Grunthal is to bring the community together for the common goal of supporting people,” says committee member Doris Wiens.

The soup kitchen will be called “Share a Bowl” and will take place in the Elim Church basement where there is a lift that can be used for people with mobility needs.

Wiens hopes their soup kitchen will also provide an opportunity for people to cook together.

The first meal will happen on February 14th from 3:30-5:30pm.

She hopes people will email grunthalsoupkitchen@gmail.com to let them know if they are planning to attend, or if they would like to volunteer or even to make a food or money donation.

Wiens believes there is a social benefit in getting people together to share a meal and support each other.
