The face of Steinbach’s core is changing fast as construction continues on the Southeast Event Centre.

Jeffrey Bannon is the General Manager of the Southeast Events Group. Except for the far south end, he says the entire arena bowl has now been poured, which is an exciting milestone.

“Half of the structure is up and it's going to continue to roll. So, each week you may see another truss go up and the work that's being done that you can't see underneath, is going at an exponential rate."

Fortunately, Bannon says the weather this winter has not been particularly difficult on the construction process, so things have been moving along.

Bannon says there are plenty of discussions going on behind the scenes about everything from point-of-sale systems to cutlery.

"Believe it or not, this morning I was talking about dishwashers, so that's where we're at.” He adds “I'm on emails now because we're going back and forth about exactly, to the exact measurement, how many seats can fit. In back of my mind, I’m like “It’s two seats” but that’s the thing, it's two seats.”

It’s those types of details that are being ironed out every day.
