Manitoba champions Randy Neufeld, Dean Moxham, Peter Nicholls and Dale Michie captured bronze at the 2022 Canadian Senior Men’s Curling Championship in Yarmouth. Neufeld jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two ends en route to a 10-7 victory over Glen MacLeod of Nova Scotia. Neufeld lost 4-3 to James Pahl of Alberta in the semifinals. It was the only loss of the week for the Neufeld foursome.


Kailen Penner, Jeremiah Warkentine and Declan Whiteman scored during a four-minute span of the first period as the Eastman Selects defeated the Parkland Rangers 4-2 at the Sun Gro Centre in Beausejour. Mason Hooper also scored for the Selects who went two-for-five on the power play. Francois Gagnon made 33 saves.


Neo Kiemeney scored his second goal of the game with 3:15 left in the third period and that proved to be the winner as the Steinbach Pistons downed the Niverville Nighthawks 5-3 at the T.G. Smith Centre. Noah Szabo, Spencer Penner and Davis Fry into an empty net with 23 seconds remaining in regulation also scored for the Pistons. Carter Spirig had a pair of goals for the Nighthawks while the other Niverville goal went to Evan Bortis.


The Springfield Xtreme ad Red River Mudbugs were winners in the HTJHL. Cayden St. Laurent scored twice and Aidan Avanthay and Ben Chambers each had a goal and two helpers as the Xtreme beat Lorette 6-4. Brayden Kizlik and Ky Stewart also scored for Springfield. Liam Foster, Tyler Van de Velde, Matt Ramsay and Ben Grift replied for the Comets. Red River scored seven times in the second period and bounced Macdonald 12-2. Braden Hildebrand and Bryson Loewen each had a hat trick for the Mudbugs. Coltyn Plaitin and Talon Weselak did the goal scoring for the Swarm.


Ashton Dubois had two goals and an assist in the St. Malo Warriors 4-2 victory over the Lundar Falcons. Jeremie Collette and Brady Gregoire also scored for the hometown Warriors.


The Carman Beavers and Notre Dame Hawks were winners in the SEMHL. Tanner Mole had six goals and three assists as Carman defeated Morden 13-9. Ben Dalke added three goals and three helpers for the Beavers; Fraser Mirlees scored twice while singles went to Quade Froese and AJ Nychuk. Mike Rey had a hat trick for the hometown Bombers; Jory Mullin and Andrew Clark added two goals each and Cole Penner had the other. Griffen McLean scored three times as Notre Dame downed Altona 6-2. Jean Prejet, Kyle Rous and Eli Carels also scored for the Hawks. Adam Henry and Justin Augert replied for the Maroons.


Nate Danielson and Brett Hyland scored power play goals and Carson Bjarnason made 26 saves as the Brandon Wheat Kings edged the Spokane Chiefs 2-1 at Westoba Place.


Alex Limoges scored the go-ahead goal 7:15 into the third period as the Manitoba Moose shaded the Abbotsford Canucks 2-1. Portage la Prairie’s Dean Stewart drew an assist on Limoges’ seventh of the season. Simon Lundmark also scored for the Moose. Manitoba goaltender Arvid Holm made 17 saves.
