Yanykk Nadeau threw a complete game two-hitter and struck out 11 Blue Jays as the Carillon Sultans defeated Stonewall 15-5 Tuesday night at A. D. Penner Park in Steinbach. Nadeau also had a big night at the plate with two singles, a double and three rbi. Nate Christiuk also had three hits including a solo home run while Nick Wall had a pair of hits and drove in three runs. Carillon plated five runs in the bottom of the third inning and ended the game early thanks to five more runs in the sixth. The Sultans have a 7-3 record and are in third place in the Winnipeg Senior Baseball League. Carillon will reach the midway point of the season when play a pair of games on Saturday at Quarry Park in Stonewall. The Sultans face the Pembina Phillies at 10 a.m. and the South Winnipeg Longhorns at 4 p.m.


The Carillon Sultans put their five-game winning streak on the line tonight when they meet the Manitoba Junior Baseball League leading St. Boniface Legionaires in Ile des Chenes. The Legionaires are 12-6, the second place St. James A's are 11-7 and Carillon is in third spot at 10-7. 


The Winnipeg Goldeyes gave up six runs in the top of the fifth inning and lost 7-1 to the Lincoln Saltdogs at Shaw Park. Max Murphy drove in the lone run for the Fish. The Winnipeg right fielder has a team leading 27 rbi's. Saltdogs catcher Luke Roskam homered twice for Lincoln. The Goldeyes have won just two of their last 10 games and are in the American Association's West Division cellar with a 13-21 record. 


It's day two of the 2023 Manitoba 55+ Games in Portage la Prairie. Today's schedule includes the 3 km Predicted Walk/Run, 5 Pin Bowling, 9 Hole Golf, Bocce Ball, Bridge, Pickleball, Slo-Pitch, Snooker and Track.


The Winnipeg Blue Bombers walkthrough takes place from 11 a.m. - 11:55 a.m. today at IG Field. The Bombers host the B.C. Lions on Thursday. Both teams are 2-0 to start the season. Winnipeg is coming off a 45-27 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Regina.
