The Mayor for Town of Ste. Anne is pleasantly surprised by the 30% population growth they've experienced in the last five years.

In the 2011 census, there were 1,626 residents, and at the time of the 2016 census, there were 2,114. Richard Pelletier says it's exciting to live in one of the fastest growing communities in Canada. "I think we can attribute that growth to the fact that we are located so well, and we have all of the services of a big city."

Pelletier says they have their own Police Department, Hospital, three schools, two churches, and many recreational activities and facilities like a curling rink and arena, that make it a safe and active place to live. "We have a new splash pad and skateboard park and we are focusing on activity for everyone. We are also working hard planning for future growth by improving our services like our recent lagoon expansion project."

He says the Town is also focusing on bringing in more business, both small and large industrial. With more people moving into Town, he says there are more possibilities. "Having more people in Town, it's going to be a better place to live, and having more people establishing their businesses will provide different services of all kinds that people need."

Pelletier adds they are working on being proactive with development planning, with hopes to double the population of Ste. Anne in the next 5-10 years.
