A local cheerleader is off to the Worlds.

Kassandra Momotiuk is a Steinbach teacher. On the side, she is a flyer with the Central Cheetahs Cheer Team. Next month she will be competing at the Worlds in Florida.

"Going to Worlds is a really big thing for anybody who is in the cheerleading scene," says Momotiuk. "It's something that every cheerleader hopes that one day they can do."

Momotiuk says just qualifying, is an unbelievable achievement.

She says the goal is to do well and make it to day two. Momotiuk says if you have a strong showing on the first day you are invited to day two and her team is hoping for that.

Momotiuk has a long history with cheer teams, including experience with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. She has also competed overseas in Scotland.
