The Richer Rough Stock Rodeo began Friday and will continue to attract hundreds of people over the course of the weekend.

As always, President Pat Stolwyk says their goal is to entertain everybody in the safest way possible.

“Nothing is more important to us than the safety of those riders because the last thing we want is for one of these guys to get hurt. We want to see them all again next year.”

Meanwhile, Stolwyk says the animals need to be cared for too.

“They’re well-fed, they’re watered, we have sprinklers to cool them off, and let me tell you, those animals do appreciate it.”

Other attractions during the weekend's festivities include petting zoos, bouncy castles, magicians, and a new jumbotron enabling audience members to catch instant replays of the bull-riding action.

“If you miss what the bull did, you’ll be able to see it again," says Stolwyk, "and maybe, again and again, depending on how good it is.”

Friday’s feature event was the Bullnanza at 7:00 PM and the Heartland Rodeo Association will be demonstrating their talent at two 2:00 PM shows on Saturday and Sunday.
