At 4:15 pm, Environment Canada ended the Tornado Warning for parts of southeastern Manitoba, including Steinbach.

Meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm could possibly produce a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall were also possible.

Environment Canada continues to issue a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the area saying "a disturbance moving through southern Manitoba this afternoon will bring the potential for thunderstorms, some of which may become severe. The main threats associated with these storms will be large hail and strong, damaging wind gusts. The threat for severe weather is expected to quickly diminish early this evening."
