The U13 Eastman Wildcats have done a lot of great things this year and they're ready to continue making noise as they are set to host Provincials in Friedensfeld starting Thursday.

Emily Carriere plays third base and she says the team got a great opportunity to test their skills against teams from the United States. "We got to play against a lot of teams with different strategies compared to teams we usually play. It was so great to play teams that we haven't played over and over again. It was a lot of fun."

Lola Kihn splits her time between playing shortstop and pitching. She says the team did very well in the tournament down south. "We did pretty good facing off against a lot of American teams. We ended up making it to the finals and we gave the National Team a run for their money."

While success on the diamond is important, making time for fun away from ball is just as great. "It's probably my favorite part of being on this team", Carriere says with a big smile. "We actually played cornhole in the parking lot, we played around, we played jackpot with a ball, it was just a lot of fun."

As a U13 team, this group could be together for years to come and Kihn says seeing a road that leads to University or NCAA schools is pretty amazing. "I think it's a really great opportunity, just to have that chance. Getting to go to different places, maybe there are scouts there looking for players and we can impress."

Getting to host Provincials is great for the Wildcats but both Carriere and Kihn believe they can accomplish something truly magical. "I think we're really ready", says an excited Carrier. "We had a game against the toughest team and we won one, that's a really good sign."

The team would love to see people filling up the area and making a lot of noise. Kihn says it would make a big impact on the team. "It would give us more confidence against the other teams. They may have a lot of people there but if we have more, then we'll have more people cheering for us."
