Traffic was backed up from Lumber Avenue to McKenzie Avenue following a collision on Brandt Street.

Steinbach Fire Chief Kel Toews says the collision happened shortly after 5 P.M.

"We had a two-vehicle collision northbound on Brandt, it appears one vehicle crossed the median and struck the other. We will clean up the glass, we will soak up any fluids, it’s spread over a little larger area than usual but the same procedures as usual."

Toews says at this point he is unsure what caused the collision but it is under investigation. He adds it is unknown if anyone involved in the collision sustained any injuries. He notes the fire department was able to help clear the traffic that was backed up on northbound Brandt Street before cleaning up the scene.
