This Saturday, September 10th, Stonehouse Covenant Church is hosting Steinbach’s first-ever Stone City Fall Bash at A.D. Penner Park. The event will be from 4 PM to 10 PM with music starting at 7 PM.

They will have food vendors, bouncy castles, carnival games, prizes, and live music by three local bands to wrap up the summer. The performers are Luke Jacob Thiessen, Brandon Post, and The Academy. Food available includes Rocco’s Pizza, Dexter’s Mini Donuts, and cotton candy.

Organizer, Shannon Johnson Friesen, is looking forward to making the cotton candy. “We have our own machine and the flavours that we got are unique.”

Besides the food being sold at the event, everything is free. Johnson Friesen says there is also a raffle connected to the carnival games.

“Kids will actually win a ticket for playing the carnival games, and then we have several local businesses that donated prizes, so we’re going to have a raffle for the kids to put their ticket in.”

She goes on to say that you could also redeem tickets for a freezie or cotton candy, “so there’s opportunity for the kids to play for free and then win something on top of that.”

The group that planned this event wanted to create an opportunity to bring people together and help build the community in Steinbach.

“We love this town and we love being part of it and good events like when you come around food and music and games, there’s kind of this joyful feel. That’s what we’re hoping to create, just to give the gift of a fun and memorable evening for our town.”

Bring a lawn chair and a blanket and come out for a fun evening.
