For the second year in a row, a Providence Pilots men's basketball player has been named the Most Valuable Player of the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference.

Romeo KC is a fourth-year guard from Falls Church, Virginia and led the province in scoring with 21.8 points per game in the 2016-17 season. KC also topped the assists chart with an average of 6.08, and his field goal percentage was third-best in the division.

The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference also recognized teammate Richard Rogers as a member of the All-Conference team. Rogers is in his third-year at Providence and topped the defensive rebounds category with 7.82 per game, and finishing fourth in scoring.

Courtney Engel, from the women's basketball team, was also named to the MCAC's All-Conference team after averaging 10.5 points per game and coming third in overall rebounds with 8.17.

Both Providence basketball teams advanced to the MCAC Final Four but came up short last weekend, losing to the eventual champions—Canadian Mennonite University and Red River College, respectively.
