The Rural Municipality of Hanover is expecting to pay approximately $1.2 million to equip the new Blumenort Fire hall with trucks. Hanover council voted in favour Wednesday of beginning the tendering process for the three trucks.

Hanover Fire Chief Paul Wiebe says a new pumper will probably cost between $430,000 and $440,000, the rescue truck will cost about $390,000 and the tanker $380,000. Combined, that works out to approximately $1.2 million.

Deputy Reeve Bernie Stahn says it can take anywhere from nine to twelve months to build each unit and so they have set a deadline of May 4th for tenders to be in.

Wiebe says construction of the hall will probably start in May. It is expected to be operational within the first six months of 2019.
