The wind picked up this afternoon and gusts up to 80 km/h can be expected for the rest of the evening.

A cold front will spark shower activity for a good portion of Saturday, and gusty southwesterly winds will continue, a little less windy, but still up to 50 km/h.

On Sunday, high pressure builds from the north as a trough develops over much of the Prairies. That means a cooler air-mass is moving in, and temperatures will remain chilly to start the week, but with sunshine.

The long-range forecast models are showing a warm-up, back to near seasonal, starting Tuesday or Wednesday next week. There are also early signs of a system potentially bringing more rain at some point Wednesday night to Thursday.
