Body found in Steinbach, family says it is Ryan Maynard

Steinbach RCMP have confirmed that a deceased body was located in the city Wednesday night.

At approximately 6 pm, RCMP responded to a report of a body found near a property located off of Hespeler Street.

Police say the deceased has not yet been identified, but it is believed to be related to an ongoing missing person investigation.

This investigation remains ongoing as police await the results of the autopsy.

Steinbach RCMP, along with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, continue to investigate.

Meanwhile, family of Ryan Maynard has been posting on social media that his body has been found. The 29-year-old was last seen on November 20th along Cedar Crescent in Steinbach. Since that time, numerous search parties have been organized in an effort to locate the missing man.
