It is a big month for Bailey Bram who will be playing in the Clarkson Cup Final on Sunday afternoon, then joining Team Canada for the World Women's Hockey Championship in late March.

Bram, who grew up in Ste. Anne won the Clarkson Cup with the Calgary Inferno in 2016 and says they have a very real shot at taking the Canadian Women's Hockey League championship again this year. She notes the final will be broadcast on Sportsnet, which is a really cool experience.

"It is always a lot of fun, it is a little different but it is pretty cool to have that exposure and have little girls be able to watch us on TV and watch woman's pro-hockey and think 'maybe that is what I want to do when I am older', because growing up I definitely didn't have that opportunity."

Bram says women's hockey is growing fast and so is the Canadian Women's Hockey League. She notes being on the Calgary Inferno and being named to Team Canada means some little girls are starting to look up to her, which is a special honour.

"Growing up I always had my role models whether it was Jocelyne Larocque, Jennifer Botterill or Hayley Wickenheiser and to kind of be put on a pedestal like that, or to have little girls come up to me and ask for my autograph, wearing my jersey, or wearing number 17 because of me, it is always pretty special."

Bram says later on this month she will reunite with Team Canada as they prepare for the first game of the 2017 World Women's Hockey Championship on March 31st in Michigan.

"I think we report to camp on March 23rd but in the meantime, we will be training in Calgary and the Hockey Canada coach will be out running our skill sessions and running sessions with the girls out there and just prepping them."

Bram says most of her family will be making the trip to Michigan for the World Championships which will be really exciting.
