Residents of La Broquerie are back to hearing trains roll through their community. 

On Saturday morning, CN crews fully restored service at the site of the 24-car derailment near the La Broquerie

The derailment occurred Thursday evening, January 11th near the intersection of Road 36N and PR 210. Crews were on site that evening, assessing the derailment, and beginning repairs to the train tracks.  

According to CN, twelve of the cars were empty while the rest carried potash and forest products. Their statement also notes there were no injuries, leaks, or fires, and there was no risk to the public. 

The crossing at Road 36N remains closed to traffic due to ongoing cleanup operations in the area.  

The cause of the derailment is still under investigation by both CN and Transport Canada.
