Stonewall RCMP responded to a fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 6 near Warren about 15 minutes before midnight on Friday.

Police report that initial investigation indicates a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt and a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu were both northbound on Highway 6 when the Cobalt attempted to make a U-turn.  The Malibu struck the Cobalt on the driver's side.

The four people in the Cobalt -- an adult male, adult female, and two children -- were all taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.  The 22-year-old male driver was later pronounced dead.  He was from Little Saskatchewan First Nation.  The driver of the Malibu, a 23-year-old man from the RM of Grahamdale, was not injured.

The highway was closed for about eight hours while RCMP and a Traffic Collision Analyst investigated.  Police continue to investigate.
