The Ste. Anne Fire Department was called to a forage harvester on fire about a mile southeast of Ste. Anne at approximately 1:45 Tuesday afternoon.

Assistant Fire Chief Roger Pelland says they were able to get to the machine quite easily.

“The tractor was in the field, they were doing green feed and it started on fire. The field was dry enough so we were able to get the pumper into the field and we put the fire out”

Pelland says they were able to disconnect the header and use another tractor to drag it clear of the fire. He notes it will still be a big loss for the farmer.
