Melissa Thiessen of Bee Backpacks stopped by to talk about the new organization she started to help those in need.  Melissa is a paramedic and has a unique perspective on those dealing with homelessness in rural Manitoba.  She sees where some live and hears firsthand about their struggles.  And when she saw a need, she came up with a creative way to fill it... with backpacks!  She gathers previously used backpacks and fills them with toiletries, currently mitts and toques and other essentials and drops them off at various locations for the homeless in the southeast.  You can learn more about Bee Backpacks and donate gently used backpacks and new items to fill them by emailing her at beebackpacks@gmail.com and get Bee Backpacks news on their Instagram account
