Residential growth continues to push the number of building permits higher in the R.M. of La Broquerie.  Reeve Ken Mantie says 60 new permits this year have been issued which is down slightly from the same time last year.  Some of those are new commercial applications but most of them are for new homes or renovations to residential property.  He feels new residents are attracted to La Broquerie because they offer services that are often missing in other small communities.  Things like curbs and gutters instead of culverts and ditches make the village of La Broquerie very appealing to newcomers.
