Snow and blowing snow is creating treacherous driving conditions Friday morning in southern Manitoba.

Environment Canada has issued a Blowing Snow Advisory with south winds expected to gust to 70 km/h today. This, combined with five centimetres of fresh snow today is creating near zero visibility in some areas.

As of 7:50 Friday morning, the only road closure in the southeast is the Perimeter Highway around Winnipeg.

Motorists have informed us this morning that roads running east/west have the poorest visibility. There are vehicles in ditches throughout the southeast.

Callers have reported complete whiteout conditions on Highway 311 leaving Niverville, as well as Highway 59 in the area.
