How much has the GPS and other bus upgrades cost the division?

That was one question asked by parents and public who attended the Hanover School Division consultation budget meeting Tuesday night. Rick Peters, Board Trustee and Finance Board Chair, says during the consultation budget they don't have all the answers to all the questions, but they are still appreciated because the questions are then talked through during the annual board planning retreat.

"We'll start to talk about some of these things and start to talk about where we want to spend for this next year," notes Peters. "The board planning retreat gives us a start as to where we want to spend our money."

Other questions included knowing what educational topics teachers are participating in during a P.D. day and including teachers in lunchtime supervision duty.

Areas the Hanover School Division presented as additional budget considerations include teacher professional development related to deeper learning, information technology related to deeper learning, class sizes and pupil-teacher ratio, transportation, facilities, and communication.

Peters says there are probably a lot more questions from the public and wishes they would have a larger attendance during their consultation budget meeting to be able to better serve the community by knowing what their concerns, questions, and suggestions are.
