The Steinbach Pistons (27-12-6) fell 3-1 to the MJHL leading Portage Terriers (47-2-2) in Portage Friday evening.
Denis Bosc's eighth goal of the season gave Steinbach a 1-0 lead midway through the second period, but the Pistons were unable to hold on for the win despite outshooting Portage 27-23.
The Pistons play again Saturday evening, hosting the Waywayseecappo Wolverines at 7:30pm at the TG Smith Centre.
