Super Splash Does It Again

Two representatives from Super Splash in Steinbach will be heading to Paris, France in May. Co-owner Verna Martens says that's the reward for being recognized as one of the top 15 Shell stations in Canada. She says the judging is based on year-over-year increases in fuel sales and evaluations of their staff by mystery shoppers. It's the third time Super Splash has won such an award in the past four years. Martens says their success is based on great customers and staff and the relationships they build.

"I think we just really like people. The staff are very people-oriented. I think a lot of our customers are more like friends. It's exciting when they come in. We kind of keep up to date with what they're doing and they keep up to date with what we're doing. It's really a lot of fun to serve the customers that we have. I think we have amazing staff, they are fun to work with. But it's kudos to our customers, they are awesome. They keep us smiling and running and it's really fun."

Martens says past awards have taken them to Cape Town, South Africa and Barcelona, Spain. She adds they have not yet decided who will make the trip to Paris but says, whoever goes, they'll be treated to special dinners and tours for three consecutive days.

"It's about three days of Shell stuff there where they totally treat you to absolutely everything. They have amazing gala dinners set up for everyone, they do tours of different places and then they do have one session that we need to attend as well. But most of it is just a lot of fun and celebrating all the winners that are there."
