Larry Tetrault

The reeve of the RM of Springfield says Larry Tetrault will not be back as Chief Administrative Officer. Tetrault, who is from La Broquerie, resigned last year to run for the Manitoba Conservatives in the Dawson Trail riding. After he lost the election, three members of Springfield council voted to re-hire him as CAO but the decision was invalid since there was not a quorum.

Reeve Jim McCarthy says they are currently awaiting a mediator's report on the matter. He adds, "Larry will not be coming back, I'll tell you that, as far as this process anyway. We are going to bid the job and we're working on that now and that's advertising for it and that will happen in the month of January and we will have our new CAO hired within the months that follow."

McCarthy expects the mediator's report any day now and council will then discuss it with the municipality's lawyer.
