Three Way Builders in Steinbach is objecting to part of its assessment to help pay for the construction of Acres Drive.
The city is asking all property owners along the new street to pay $100.00 per frontage foot toward construction of the roadway. Three Way Lawyer Marcel Jodoin says the company's corner lot that faces Highway #12 should be exempt because it will not benefit from the new street. At issue is an assessment of $60,000.00. Mayor Chris Goertzen says city council will take another look at the situation. Meantime, Jodoin says another piece of Three Way property will benefit from the new street and they'll pay that assessment of $43,000.00.
