Steinbach Mayor Chris Goertzen has announced councillor Elbert Toews will remain Deputy Mayor for a 2nd consecutive year. Toews is surprised and honoured, noting he expected someone else would get the opportunity to serve in that role this year. Mayor Goertzen has kept most councillors' responsibilities the same for the coming year. But one small change sees Art Rempel as the city's representative on the Seine/Rat River conservation district, taking over from Roy Enns. And he announced Lloyd Funk as a new citizen representative on the library board.
