New Bothwell and Kleefeld fire crews along with ambulance and RCMP responded to a two vehicle colission at the corner of PR 311 and PR 206 around 9:45am Wednesday. New Bothwell Acting Fire Chief Ron Bachmeier says it appears one southbound vehicle made a full stop at the intersection and then proceeded through. It was struck by an eastbound vehicle.

Crews had to use the jaws of life to get one person out of the vehicle.

The female driver of one vehicle was sent to Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach with undetermined injuries. Bachmeier says this corner continues to be a problem spot for colissions. He says safety measures have been put in place but there are still crashes.

The intersection was closed for about an hour while crews cleared the scene.
