Fourteen students from Ecole Communautaire Real Berard in St. Pierre will check off the graduate high school box on their bucket lists on Monday.

Principal Angele Comeau notes about half of their 2018 graduating class will attend university in the fall while a majority of the other half will continue their education in the trades.

"This group is very strong as leaders and we are very proud of them and they are go-getters," says Comeau noting she also has a personal connection with this class. "They are very special to me in general because I was honoured and able to teach them for two years and now I get to send them off into the world as a principal so it's pretty exciting."

This year's valedictorians are Olivia Catellier and Cobi Rioux. Catellier says they will share a message with their peers Monday afternoon about taking the path you choose whether it be school, work or travel and not to let others make that decision for you. Rioux says their small class has mostly been together since day one.

"We all had different interests but we all found a way to get along and we're such a tight group because we have been together for like the past thirteen years."

Rioux and Catellier reflect on some fond memories with their class that they've had over the years. They note a few that come to mind are the winter camp in grade seven and eight and their canoe trip in grade eleven which Rioux says was a great bonding experience because you get to know your classmates on a whole other level as opposed to being inside school walls.

The convocation at 1pm on Monday at the St. Pierre Bible Fellowship Church.
