A victim of a home robbery in Steinbach is hoping that a very special ring that was stolen will be found and returned.

Candace Cancade told the emotional story behind the unique piece of jewelry. "My mom passed away five and a half years ago. Her and my dad were married 49 years at the time of her passing. I had been caring for her in the hospital for a year before she died. After she died, about a year later, I took her wedding rings and I had them re-created into this very unique ring, so that I could have a piece of her with me. It has her diamonds and gold that formed that ring, along with gold from my Auntie who was very, very close to me. It was two people I was remembering with that ring and now, it's gone."

"I want the ring back," Candace says as her voice cracks with emotion. "It's not about the money, it's not the monetary value of the ring. I just want that ring back. It's my mom's ring. I just want it back."

If you have any information about the ring, please contact RCMP.

If you or someone you know finds it, bring it to Country 107 and drop it off, no questions asked.
