This is Special Olympics Manitoba Awareness Week, and as big supporters of the organization here on the Morning Show, we wanted to make sure we celebrated alongside the thousand of athletes and volunteers.

Morning Show Co-Host Chris Sumner has been a Special Olympics Manitoba 10-pin bowling coach for nearly a decade, and has a very special place in his heart for enriching the lives of those with an intellectual disability. It’s that focus, using sport as the platform, that drive Special Olympics Manitoba and all it does.

Our guest today was C.E.O. Jennifer Campbell, and she chatted with Chris about the week. They also talked about the theme this week #AcceptWithNoException (something you may see on social media this week), and what that means to those living with an intellectual disability.

Keep an eye out on all of the organization’s social media platforms for special events happening this week. That includes this Saturday’s (June 19th) Facebook Live celebratory message from S-O-M staff and athletes. That’s happening at 1 p.m., and you can find it by searching Special Olympics Manitoba on Facebook.
