Environment Canada says Saturday and most of Sunday aren't looking too bad after all.

Meteorologist David Baggaley says Saturday we'll see above normal temperatures with increasing cloud, although he notes Sunday could be a bit messy.

"There will be some fog around and maybe a little bit of light snow or some freezing drizzle so that may be a little bit more complicated."

Baggaley says they're continuing to track a Colorado low that's expected to move into the region late Sunday but notes there have been some changes in the way that system is moving.

"The big story is actually the Colorado low that's coming towards the Canadian Prairies and that's probably going to be hitting Sunday evening and be in the area Monday and Tuesday. It looks like the really bad part of the system is a little bit further west than what we were looking at earlier so the very heavy snowfall amounts will probably avoid the Red River Valley."

Motorists are advised to be aware of changing road conditions throughout the weekend.
