A one-time recipient of a Christmas hamper from Steinbach Community Christmas says she is excited to give back because she knows just how much the hampers mean to those in need.

Nancy Thompson dropped by Toys Days Wednesday afternoon with a large bag full of toys for Steinbach Community Christmas. She says it feels incredible to donate.

"A number of years ago I was having difficulties and I was helped a lot and now I am able to help other people so I just wanted to do that."

Thompson says it is a real privilege to be able to make a donation like this. She notes Christmas can be a hard time when you aren’t able to purchase gifts for the people you love.

"I just want all kids to have a little something under the tree and it is not the price of the gift, it is the idea that there is something there for them. There was a time that I didn't have anything under my tree and that just hurts me to know that there are kids that don't have things."

Our Toy Train will be set up at Canadian Tire until 9 P.M. Thursday evening.
