Three Manitoba Good Roads Association awards have been awarded within the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie.

Awards were given to Airmaster Signs Shield for Best Maintained System of Rural Municipal Roads, Toromont Cat Shield for Most Improved Municipal Roads, and Western Financial Group Shield in the Urban Beautification Competition.

Reeve Lewis Weiss says it's good to have recognition within the municipality for improved or maintained care of roads and properties.

Weiss adds, 'I think it's good because it shows that the people are recognized for having a stately or beautiful property or roads are being improved or communities are being taken care of and improved. So, all around I think it's good for us."

As for improvements going forward, he says he would like to see Ekron-Oswald south of Highway 52 improved as well as improve drainage throughout the municipality, adding the LiDAR mapping will be very helpful going forward.
