Food bank freezer on last hinges
Help is needed to replace a broken freezer at Accueil Kateri Centre, the food bank in Ste. Anne. Board member Norbert Ritchot looks after maintenance at the food bank. “We have quite a few freezers and one of them is getting old, it’s very old.” It’s also on its last hinges. The lid needs to be opened very carefully as it’s only secured with hinges on one side. “But it closes okay at this point,” Ritchot says, pointing out that the food inside stays frozen. While the lid still closes, he's not sure how much longer it will last. The large freezers are important for safe storage of donated food such as baked goods and meat. Contact the food bank if you have a large freezer to donate or if you want to make a cash donation. Financial donations can be made through their website or by dropping it off at the food bank at 132 Central Avenue in Ste. Anne. Look for drop box if the doors are locked.
